I don’t want to get anybody’s hopes up, but the drought might finally be coming to an end. We might be getting new Keef music, a full year after his last official release. For the past week or so, the Chicago emcee has been hitting clubs all up and down the east coast, and it seems now he has put down his roots in New York for a little while, as he posted an Instagram photo this morning showing himself to be in the studio with French Montana and legendary producer Swizz Beatz. Whether this collaboration will actually surface anywhere is yet to be seen, but hopefully it will end up in French’s hands, because even with his label’s botched release of MC4 he is still much better at releasing music than Keef. At a concert several months ago, Sosa promised that he was going to be making a major comeback in 2017, so this could quite possibly be the first step towards putting together a project that will be the nail in the coffin for all the new school rappers that he seems to want it to be.
