A few months ago we got a message on our Facebook page from lordxprynce, he wanted to know if we’d be interested in interviewing him. At the time, I had no idea who he was but I agreed to do it, based solely off of his impressive resumé – At 22 years old LORDXPRINCE has produced for Migos and A$AP Ferg; and modeled for Pier Moss, American Eagle and Traplord clothing, to name a few. Check out our interview with him below.
First off, tell me a little about yourself.
My name is Prynce aka lordxprynce, Prynce the Pegasus, the 808….
I’m 22 years old, born and raised in Harlem, NY. I moved to the Bronx (Bruckner Blvd. – Castle Hill) at a young age, so the Bronx raised me.
None yet, would love to have some in future.
So you’re a producer and model? Impressive.
Yes I am (laughs).
Which came first?
Producing came first. Back in middle school I had a really cool teacher, named DJ Tito, who introduced me to a MPC (beatmaker), and after that I was hooked. Later on I downloaded FL Studio and starting perfecting my craft. It took me a while to get the hang of it, I would watch producer tutorials on YouTube and breakdown/copy beats. Overtime, my friends started rapping and I found my place as a producer.
I see you and A$AP Ferg are pretty close, not only have you produced several of his songs, you and him have been seen on several occasions walking the street’s of New York and chilling like normal friends. Can you tell me about your relationship with him?
Me and Ferg go way back before the fame. I met him through my n*gga Marty Baller, who actually just signed to A$AP Ferg.
Who’s Marty Baller?
Marty Baller is my brother and has played a huge role in my career, he introduced me to Ferg and [put me on] by using my beat for his song “I’m A Dog” featuring Migos and A$AP Ferg. Which led to me producing A$AP Ferg’s “Trap Anthem”, also featuring Migos. We’re all family, you know, I’m their little bro.
You, Ferg, and Marty Baller?
Have you ever kicked it with A$AP Rocky?
A few times we’ve been in the studio together, he’s a cool dude too.
How did you get into modeling?
I started off self-modeling, then modeling for Marty Baller and Traplord clothing. I built from there and eventually got an agent, now I model for Rednyc.
First big modeling gig?
I have been doing a lot of modeling lately but my biggest gig so far has been with American Eagle.
I see you were on Vogue Magazine last year, tell me about that experience.
Last year I did a ‘walk’ for Pyer Moss styled by Erykah Badu, and photos from that walk landed on Vogue. I expected the walk to get coverage, but I didn’t expect to make it on Vogue, so the experience was amazing.
What should we expect from lordxprynce in 2017?
I got a mixtape dropping very soon, it’s going to have Ferg and Marty Baller on it for sure.
